Welcome to all 200 Club members and especially to those wanting to find out about the Railway and the 200 Club. I hope you will decide to become a member of Swanage Railway if you're not and, of course, the 200 Club. Railway members can download a 200 Club joining/renewal form (pdf) by clicking on the link above right. Please click here for the Swanage Railway Trust membership application form, which is now in Adobe Acrobat format and can be printed out and sent with your membership fee to the Membership Secretary at the Swanage Railway Trust, Station House, Swanage, Dorset, BH19 1HB. I am very grateful to Chris Youlden, a fellow volunteer and PRC treasurer, for this Information webpage provided by him which enables wider publication of details about the 200 Club. Thank you Chris and for all the help you give to me throughout the year.I am grateful, too, to Andrew Wright, our Railway photographer for the photographs of the bridge, our previous 200 Club project, and the Corfe Castle signalbox - there are many more photographs of his to see on www.swanagerailway.co.uk - just follow the links. |

Renewal Time
You can renew any time
from October for the coming year.
Your renewals are greatly welcome and so are all new members. A very big thank you to all those who have taken out extra subscriptions at any time, your subscriptions provide many of the Railway's essential needs and achievements. I assure you that there is no limit to the number of extra subscriptions that you can take out or when you wish to start – just pay for the total up to the end of any year (December) - you will receive a renewal reminder in about October each year. All renewal reminders include details of your subscription numbers and your Trust membership number either on your envelope label if I write to you or with the email I send you. The target for subscriptions is 1000, we're only a small number away from this target. So, it will be good to receive your renewals – please send them in by early December before Christmas matters start to take over! If you are reading this webpage for the first time and are not a 200 Club member, you’d be very welcome to join us – Pete Ashton, our treasurer, will be pleased to receive your cheque any time! And it is always a pleasure for me to ‘sign up’ a new member into the database! You will see on the form that you have to be a Trust member and over 16 – you can download a form now from this webpage (top right). A full year’s membership of one year’s subscription is £15 – January to December. Any number of subscriptions can be taken out at any time to December in any year at the rate of £1.25 per month. Please join us. You are welcome to email me, David Saunders, with any matter about the 200 Club – railway@davidfsaunders.org.uk or telephone me or fax on 01202 882022; you can write to me or Pete Ashton, our treasurer, too, c/o Station House and Pete now has an email facility – peter.ashton@mypostoffice.co.uk. Thank you for all your support, the 200 Club does a great job for the Railway, please keep subscribing! It will be good to receive your renewal well before the December rush! And please consider an extra subscription in 2010, they're always welcome. Keep a lookout for details of the celebration of 125 years of the Swanage line in 2010. And now some 'latest news' - a new project has been chosen for the 200 Club for 2010 to follow the signalbox at Corfe Castle - fitting out the new building to be erected early next year on the Harman's Cross down platform. This is a short-term project with, hopefully, a new major project to follow - please watch for news in the SRM, hopefully, later next year. I hope we will all continue to subscribe and support this important new development of our very attractive Harman's Cross station. ![]() May I also encourage you to support the Railway further, by taking out an account for the Railway Visa Card – just telephone MBNA on 0800 028 2440 and request an application form, mentioning the Swanage Railway. Please promote the Railway as you make purchases by using the Swanage Railway Visa card with its excellent image of the M7! |

Rest assured my
activities for the 200 Club Monthly Draw are fully scrutinised by three
friends, one of whom is a Railway member and the other two quite
enthusiastic about the Railway, although I haven't been able to get
them to join!
They are Jeanette, Margaret and Freda. I welcome recently Bob Wareham, whom you may see in Swanage Booking Office, and who has agreed to deputise for me when necessary. I am pleased to say that no loose numbers on cards or paper are to be seen now - all winners are randomly selected by computer, much easier! |
